How It Works
  1. Read daily for the month of May.
  2. Record the number of minutes spent reading each day on the back of this bookmark.
  3. Review your number of minutes with a teacher or parent/guardian. Have them initial the “Reviewer Initials” box.
  4. Redeem your prize by bringing this bookmark to Camp Fimfo Waco’s Welcome Center during business hours between June 1, 2025 - August 22, 2025. Participants must bring a completed bookmark and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. See "Reading Challenge Prizes" section of this webpage more details.

Prize Redemption Information
Redeem your prize by bringing this bookmark to Camp Fimfo Waco’s Welcome Center during business hours between June 1, 2025 - August 22, 2025. Participants must bring a completed bookmark and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Day Camping Passes must be used on the day of redemption and is non-transferable. Participants redeeming Day Camping Passes must be accompanied by an adult. Day Camping Passes are required for the adult and may be offered at a discount. Who can participate in the reading challenge?
The reading challenge is only open to k-8 grade residents of McLennan County, TX.

Can homeschooled children participate?
Yes! All children that are k-8 grade and residents of McLennan County, TX can register to participate.

How do I get a bookmark?
Registered Classes or Schools:
Registered classes and schools will distribute bookmarks to their students.

Registered Individuals:
Registered individuals will receive an email after the registration deadline of May 20, 2025, with details on receiving the bookmark reading log. Registered individuals can pick up a bookmark from Camp Fimfo Waco or will sent a link to download and print a bookmark reading log at home.

My child wants to participate, but their class or school has not registered. What should I do?
First, contact your child's teacher and/or school about registering to participate. If the class or school does not want to participate, you can register your child as an individual participant with the form link on the page above.
Who needs to verify minutes read each day?
A teacher, parent, or guardian must initial next to the documented number of minutes read to be considered a valid entry.
What if my student misses a day of reading?
Only fully completed bookmarks with daily reading logged and review/initialed will be eligible for the prizes.
